About Miss Elizabeth (Liza) Ball
Miss Elizabeth Ball is a gynaecologist with a special interest in chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis.
Miss Ball trained in Germany, England, France and America. The highlight of her training was her fellowship at Endometriosis Centre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she became proficient in complex laparoscopy and excisional techniques for deep endometriosis.
She is now a preceptor and trains junior doctors in compassionate communication with patients, passing on her enthusiasm for laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operating.
Miss Ball's research focus is diagnosing and treating endometriosis, and non-western approaches to pain, such as the role of music and meditation. This reflects in her holistic approach to women’s health; her principle is to deliver the care she would like for herself and loved ones.
Miss Ball has published textbook chapters on advanced laparoscopic techniques, and peer-reviewed papers. As reginal editor for AJOG global she is at the cutting edge of new research in gynaecology, and works closely with Endometriosis U.K. to campaign for endometriosis.
In her spare time, Miss Ball enjoys hiking, reading, music and printmaking.
