Biography & Education
About Dr Frances Humby
Dr Humby undertook her medical training at University College London, graduating in 1997 with honours and a first class intercalated degree in Genetics. She completed specialist training in Rheumatology in 2010 (London Deanery) and during this time was also awarded a PhD (focused on the pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis) from the University of London. She was appointed to the post of Senior Lecturer (latterly Reader) and Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at Queen Mary University of London and Barts’and the London Hospitals in 2010. In 2021 her NHS practice moved, when she was appointed as a Consultant Rheumatologist and Honorary Reader at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London.
She has a specialist interest in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory arthritis and has published over 60 peer reviewed publications in this field. She also has wide experience in general rheumatological conditions including osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, connective tissue disorders and osteoporosis.
She is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and holds Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. She is Research and Development Lead for Rheumatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
