Biography & Education
About Dr Hadi Manji
Dr Hadi Manji qualified in Medicine from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and the Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1982. He trained as a General Practitioner in Edinburgh on the Vocational GP training Scheme. After returning to Hospital medicine, he trained in Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology, the Royal Free Hospital and L'Hopital Kremlin Bicetre, Paris. His MD thesis was entitled 'The Neurological Complications of Early HIV infection'.
In 1997, Dr Manji was appointed as Consultant Neurologist to the National Hospital, Queen Square, London and Ipswich Hospital. He is the Senior author and editor of the Oxford Handbook of Neurology (20,000 copies sold to date) which is used world wide by neurologists in training and consultants.
Dr Manji is recognised internationally as a lecturer and teacher with visiting Professorships to Singapore, Chennai (India), Nairobi (Kenya). He was involved in the setting up of the Medical School in Beira, Mozambique. He has supervised and mentored trainees at the National Hospital from Kenya, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and currently Barbados.
He was President of the Neurosciences Section of the Royal Society of Medicine 2019 to 2020 and is currently Chairman of the Medical Committee fo the National Hospital for Neurology.
