Biography & Education

About Dr Heather Wilson

Dr Wilson is a Consultant Neurologist who works at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in London UK. She completed her neurology training in London and undertook her PhD on mechanisms of repair and remyelination in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at Cambridge University UK and in New York.

She worked at the Royal Free Hospital in London as a general neurologist for 16 years where she was instrumental in setting up the MS service at Chase Farm and Barnet Hospitals. She moved to NHNN to specialise in MS and related disorders in 2020.

She is experienced in diagnosing and managing all general neurological problems in adults including headache, tremor, dizziness, collapses, sensory symptoms, muscle weakness and walking problems. Her main clinical and research interest is Multiple Sclerosis and she is a senior member of the MS team at NHNN where she offers a specialist service for people with MS or suspected MS and related CNS inflammatory disorders.

She talks regularly on MS-related topics, teaches undergraduates and postgraduates at University College London and collaborates with colleagues on research studies in MS.
