About Professor Sanjay Sharma

Prof Sanjay Sharma is Professor of cardiology. His interests include inherited heart muscle and electrical diseases, sudden cardiac death in the young and sports cardiology. He has an international reputation in his field of work with over 500 publications. He is cardiology advisor for several elite sporting organisations including the English Football Association, England Cricket Board, Rugby league, Lawn Tennis association, British rowing team and the English institute of sport. He is medical director of the London marathon and was awarded membership of Venerable Order of St John for his services to St John Ambulance for supporting the medical welfare of marathon runners. He was lead cardiologist for the 2012 London Olympics.
