Biography & Education

About Professor Huw Morris

Prof. Huw Morris is Professor of Neurology and Neurogenetics at the Institute of Neurology, Royal Free Hospital and National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

He trained at Guy's Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology. He was a Consultant Neurologist, Senior Lecturer and then Professor of Neurology at Cardiff University from 2003-2013 and then moved to his current positions in London.

He has expertise in general neurology, neurogenetics, movement and cognitive disorders including Parkinson's disease, tremor, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Multiple System Atrophy and Corticobasal Syndrome.

He has an active interest in clinical trials, acting as National Chief Investigator in >10 therapeutic trials in Parkinson's and related disorders.

He leads a research group investigating the genetics of movement disorders and longitudinal clinical studies focusing on the early diagnosis and natural history of Parkinson's and related disorders.

He is chair of the ABN Neurogenetics advisory group, secretary of the ABN Movement Disorders special interest group and leads the clinical cohorts group of the Global Parkinson's Genetics Program (gp2.org).

He has published over 400 original research publications.
