About Dr Michael Burdon

Dr Burdon initially qualified as a GP and worked for 5 years in a busy city practice before he changed careers. He then obtained a diploma in Sports Medicine and later progressed this to a MSc at Bath University in 2010.

Dr Burdon gained a wide variety of MSK skills by working for the MoD over many years - assessing and treating a wide variety of injuries and conditions.

Dr Burdon started work at Pure Sports Medicine in 2015 and worked as the head of Sports Medicine for 3 years - also taking on the role as Responsible Officer for the company during that time. He now works for Pure Sports Medicine in the Kensington clinic as well as his work at the Cleveland Clinic London.

Dr Burdon has worked in many professional sports in his career. This includes rugby, boxing, football, swimming, diving and hockey.

Dr Burdon also covered the aquatic events at the London 2012 Olympics.

Dr Burdon is interested in nearly all sports and especially running. He is a keen runner and has completed several marathons and 2 previous 50km ultramarathons. He is currently training for his first ever 100km ultra which will take place in late 2025.
