About Dr Alexandra Kent
Dr Alexandra Kent completed her specialist Gastroenterology training in North-West London, and has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at King's College Hospital NHS Trust since 2016.
During training she spent 5 years at the John Radcliffe Hospital and University of Oxford completing research into Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She is published in peer-reviewed journals, covering a variety of GI conditions.
She is part of the IBD service at CCL and King's College Hospital, but also has wide experience in investigating GI symptoms (pain, constipation, diarrhoea, swallowing problems) and GI conditions, including (and not limited to) ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome and dyspepsia (acid reflux). She performs endoscopy, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Kent is involved in medical education, and is the Gastroenterology Training Programme Director for South Thames. She is also the Chair of the London IBD Forum and a member of the IBD Committee for the British Society of Gastroenterology.
