Biography & Education
About Mr Martin Klinke
Mr Martin Klinke is one of London’s leading orthopaedic surgeons, specialising exclusively in conditions of the foot and ankle. He is the only foot and ankle surgeon in London qualified in both orthopaedics and sports medicine.
After graduating from medical school in Frankfurt, Mr Klinke went on to earn a master’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Nice, where his research focused on gait analysis and foot pathologies.
He completed his post-graduate orthopaedic training in Germany (Frankfurt and Munich) and France (Paris), followed by prestigious fellowships at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, London, and in Basel, Switzerland.
With more than twenty years of experience, Mr Klinke has helped thousands of patients overcome a wide range of foot and ankle problems. He is recognised for delivering exceptional and often innovative care and now brings his expertise to the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic London.
Mr Klinke performs the full spectrum of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. His key areas of interest include hindfoot disorders, ankle replacement, sports injuries, and forefoot conditions. His practice also encompasses ankle arthroscopy, minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair, minimally invasive forefoot surgery, and the operative correction of foot deformities.
His background in Sports Medicine enables him to treat athletes with acute injuries or overuse conditions, offering advanced therapies such as shockwave treatment for Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fasciitis. He works closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal non-operative care and to support a fast, complete recovery following surgery.
Mr Klinke is deeply committed to patient care. He is known for taking the time to explain conditions and treatment options clearly, ensuring that every patient feels informed.
