About Dr Elaine Agius
Dr Elaine Agius qualified as a Consultant Dermatologist registered with the General Medical Council in 2012. She holds a PhD in the Immunology of the Skin, awarded by University College London in 2009, and completed her specialist dermatology training at the internationally renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Dr Agius currently serves as a Consultant Dermatologist within the NHS, where she provides expert care in adult dermatology. Her clinical interests lie in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory skin conditions, skin infections, and skin cancer.
Throughout her career, Dr Agius has received widespread recognition for her research, particularly in the field of skin immunology and the changes that happen to our skin immune system with ageing. She has been honoured with seven national and international awards, including the prestigious Albert Kligman Award and the British Society of Investigative Dermatology Award in 2009. She also received accolades for her presentations from University College London and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Her research has been published in leading medical journals such as The Journal of Experimental Medicine and The Journal of Clinical Investigation. Dr Agius has shared her findings at numerous national and international dermatology conferences and contributed to textbook chapters in dermatology.
