About Dr Rahul Mogal
Dr. Mogal is a Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine with a specialist interest in Interventional Pulmonology. He trained as a respiratory specialist in London, gaining experience at the Royal London and London Chest Hospitals. He also completed a Clinical Fellowship in Interventional Bronchoscopy at Thoraxklinik, Heidelberg, Germany. His expertise includes specialized procedures such as EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound), endobronchial stenting, valves, coils, pleural disease management, and thoracic ultrasound. He treats a broad range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, allergy, bronchiectasis, COPD, lung cancer, lung fibrosis, TB, sarcoidosis, sleep apnoea, and unexplained cough or breathlessness.
Dr. Mogal practices at Watford General Hospital, where he manages in-patient, out-patient, and interventional procedures. He is an Honorary Consultant at UCLH. At Watford General Hospital, he has served as Clinical Lead for the department and Trust Lead for Lung Cancer. He is now the Lead Clinician for Lung Cancer screening, Pleural disease, COPD MDT, and Interventional Pulmonology. He chairs the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Lung Network Cancer Group and previously led the West Essex & Hertfordshire STP for Lung Cancer.
His contributions to healthcare have earned him NHS Clinical Excellence Awards, and he was part of the award-winning team for the prestigious BMJ Respiratory Team of the Year and the Star of Herts Staff Awards in 2021. He collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Dr. Mogal is passionate about medical education and training, serving as an educational supervisor and co-director of advanced courses in bronchoscopy and EBUS. He frequently presents at national and international conferences.
He lives locally with his wife and two daughters and enjoys spending time with his family, cricket, and tennis.
