About Dr Simon Hodes
Dr Simon Hodes is an experienced and compassionate General Practitioner (GP) and Family Doctor in London, with over 25 years of experience in both NHS and private healthcare. He sees patients privately at Cleveland Clinic London (Clinic London Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre) and practices in the NHS at Cavendish Health Centre, London.
Dr Hodes graduated from Birmingham Medical School in 1996 and completed his General Practice training in 2000. From 2001 to 2022 he served as a full-time GP Partner at a long-established NHS practice in Watford, where he cared for multiple generations of families. Alongside his GP work he spent many years as a Hospital Practitioner in Accident & Emergency and has provided urgent care services at Northwick Park Hospital.
He has a longstanding commitment to holistic, traditional family medicine and strongly believes in the importance of continuity of care, relationship-based practice and patient-centred decision making. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages and presentations in general practice.
Dr Hodes has particular clinical interests in diabetes, men’s health, cardiovascular disease, dermatology, preventive medicine and health screening.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Hodes has been closely involved in medical education throughout his career. He has been an NHS GP Appraiser since 2012 and joined the Cleveland Clinic London Medical Appraiser team in 2023. As an approved GP trainer for many years, he has mentored medical students, junior doctors, trainee GPs and other healthcare professionals. He has authored publications and professional articles on key primary care topics including continuity of care, vaccination and advance care planning.
Outside medicine, Dr Hodes enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through cycling, running and swimming, as well as gardening and cooking.
