About Dr Simon Hodes

Dr Simon Hodes grew up in Manchester, graduated from Birmingham in 1996, and after various hospital rotations qualified as a General Practitioner in 2000. From April 2001 to September 2022 he worked as a full time GP Partner within the same NHS GP Practice in Watford, being fortunate to look after generations of many families. For many years he worked one afternoon a week in A&E as a Hospital Practitioner, and more recently worked regular urgent care shifts at Northwick Park Hospital. Simon currently holds a regular job in the NHS as a Salaried GP at the Cavendish Health Centre, NW1 5JD. Simon has a passion for traditional, family minded, holistic, patient centred care, and a firm belief in the importance of continuity of care. Simon has been very involved in medical education throughout his career, has been a GP Appraiser since 2012 and was an approved GP trainer for many years. He enjoys mentoring medical students, junior doctors, trainee GPs & other clinical staff. He is proud to have various publications on GP topics including the valuable role of continuity of care for patients and the importance of Advanced Care Planning. Outside of work Simon enjoys spending time with his family, and is a keen swimmer, runner, cyclist, gardener and cook.
