About Dr Sajitha Sachchithanantham

Dr Sajitha Sachchithanantham is a Consultant Haematologist with a specialist NHS practice based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She has an interest in haemato-oncology, in particular, plasma cell disorders and Amyloidosis. She graduated in medicine from St George’s Hospital medical school in London in 2005 with a distinction in clinical practice.

As an undergraduate, Dr Sachchithanantham also obtained a BSc honours in Medical Sciences with Management from Imperial college of Science, Technology and Medicine. She trained in Haematology on South East London rotation gaining extensive experience in all areas of clinical and laboratory haematology including blood transfusion and haemostasis and thrombosis.

She completed a MD thesis in AL amyloidosis at the National Amyloidosis centre, University College London. Subsequently she was appointed as Senior Clinical research fellow and Honorary Consultant in Haematology and Amyloidosis at the National Amyloidosis Centre and Royal Free Hospital in December 2015. Her scope of work included general and consultative haematology as well as specialist national advisory service on Amyloidosis. From 2017, Dr Sachchithanantham also provided plasma cell disorders service at University College London Hospital.

Dr Sachchithanantham joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital in December 2020. She has published in leading medical journals and is actively involved in clinical trials and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
