About Professor Alister Hart

Professor Alister Hart trained at Caius College, Cambridge University, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. In 2012, Professor Hart was made Chair of Orthopaedics to the Action Medical Research at University College London Hospital (UCLH) Foundation Trust, and honorary consultant orthopaedic surgeon at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) NHS Trust.

Professor Hart leads a research team of surgical technologists, based at RNOH which focuses on Implant Science and Surgical Imaging Technology. The department includes the London Implant Retrieval Centre (LIRC), the RNOH/UCLH BRC collaboration and the Running for Science (RFS) project.

He is actively involved in teaching the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons complex hip surgery through his daily work, and educational courses.

In his spare time, Professor Hart enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors.
