About Mr Ramon Tahmassebi

Ramon is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in treating the hand and wrist and elbow. He has been a consultant since 2012, working in both the NHS and private practice. His NHS practice is based at King’s College Hospital London – a hub for complex surgery across south east England and a Major Trauma Centre. This has allowed him to build up a wealth of experience in: - Fractures of the hand wrist and elbow - Soft tissue injuries and ligament reconstruction - Sports injuries - Arthritis of the hand and wrist - Joint replacement surgery - Neurological (nerve) conditions. - Treatment of tendon problems. - Keyhole wrist surgery - Non-surgical treatment of common conditions. He is currently the Clinical Director of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery at King's. In private practice, Ramon has applied his interest in treating sports injuries of the hand and wrist. He has had the opportunity to work with premiership football, international rugby, international cricket, pro golf, world championship boxers and tennis Grand Slam winners. This experience and expertise is applied to all his patients regardless of their background. Ramon studied medicine at University College London, where he also completed an additional BSc (Hons) degree in Orthopaedic Science. His surgical training was in London and he was awarded prestigious international Fellowship training posts in Sydney, Australia and London. He remains actively involved in postgraduate education and research. He works as part of a fantastic team supported by radiologists and specialist physiotherapists who together create bespoke treatment plans for every patient according to individual needs.
