Biography & Education

About Dr Arjuna Nagendran

Dr Arjuna Nagendran qualified from the University College London medical school in 2011. He underwent training in neurophysiology and neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Queen square and Great Ormond Street Hospital, qualifying in 2019.

Dr Nagendran was appointed as a Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery in 2021 and sees patients with an extensive range of complex nerve and muscle disorders. His role also includes working as part of the Highly specialised muscle channelopathy service utilising advanced neurophysiological techniques in the assessment of muscle and nerve disorders, as well as leading EMG clinics within the hospital's neurophysiology service.

Dr Nagendran continues to have a strong interest in epilepsy and EEG, in both adult and paediatric settings. His ongoing research focuses on the neurophysiology of muscle and nerve disorders and he has presented research findings at several national and international conferences in recent years. Working within the Cochrane Neuromuscular group, he recently collaborated with international colleagues to update guidance on corticosteroids in carpal tunnel syndrome.
