About Dr Dominic Heaney
Dr Dominic Heaney is a Consultant neurologist with more than 16-years experience and commitment to clinical practice.
Dr Heaney's has held key roles including lead position within Queen Square’s clinical liaison team with University College London Hospital (UCLH).
His achievements include setting up obstetric neurology and first seizure service from scratch.
Over recent years, he has also set up a 2-year community epilepsy service pilot in Camden and an expanding neurology service in Gibraltar Health Authority.
Dr Heaney has held several management roles including 4 years as Queen Square Division deputy clinical director and 10 years in senior trust-wide governance role as Caldicott Guardian.
He has 5 years of medico-legal experience, analysing >250 cases and providing expert opinion about them in written and oral evidence to a range of Courts, often concerning personal injury and criminal cases involving motorists.
Dr Heaney has strong research and academic skills. He is an organised, independent, and patient-focussed clinician with a proven record of team working, service development, governance, and probity.
