About Dr Darren Klass

Dr Darren Klass is an interventional radiologist (IR) at Vancouver General and UBC Hospitals in Vancouver, Canada.

Dr Klass obtained his medical degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and completed his registrar training at the Norwich Radiology Academy, before completing a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

He is the IR lead for the complex thoracic aortic stent graft program and is the head of MRI for Vancouver Acute and developed the vascular MRI service at Vancouver General Hospital.

Dr Klass has developed the MR angiography service at Vancouver acute, providing both angiography and venography in the periphery and has worked on optimising protocols using time resolved and steady state imaging.

His imaging focus is in aortic disease, in particular aortic dissection and the invasive treatment thereof, using dynamic Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) to map flow in the aorta pre and post intervention and using dynamic MRA to guide therapy.
