Biography & Education
About Dr Magdi Saba
Dr Saba graduated from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt in 1994. After a fellowship and MSc in Cardiovascular Medicine, he was appointed lecturer at Cairo University Hospitals in 1999. He then completed an internship at SUNY-New York (State University of New York) and a residency in Internal Medicine at The George Washington University, Washington DC, in 2002. After a 3-year fellowship in Cardiology at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Loyola University, Chicago, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006. Since 2010, he is a Consultant Cardiac Electrophysiologist at St. George's University Hospital, London, UK. His research focuses on the improvement of ventricular arrhythmia mapping and ablation strategies, and he holds a patent on locating the site of origin of ventricular arrhythmias.
Dr Saba’s expertise spans medical and ablative therapies for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, as well as cardiac rhythm device implantation. Internationally recognized as an expert in the field of ventricular arrhythmias, Dr Saba is a regular faculty member at the major arrhythmia conferences and is a European Heart Rhythm Association Ventricular Tachycardia Course Co-Director. He is the Founding Chairman of the annual London Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia Symposium since 2010 and Director of the Advanced Ventricular Arrhythmia Training and Research (AVATAR) program at St. George's University Hospital.
