Biography & Education
About Professor Claire Sharpe
Professor Claire Sharpe is the Dean of Education in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham and Honorary Consultant Nephrologist at King’s College Hospital, London. She graduated in Medicine from University College London, U.K. in 1991 and, after specialising in kidney medicine, commenced her PhD at King’s College London with a Kidney Research UK Clinical Training Fellowship.
In 2002 Professor Sharpe received a National Institute for Health Research Clinician Scientist Award and became a practicing consultant in 2004. In 2009 she was awarded a Clinical Senior Lectureship from the UK government to allow her to continue her research and was promoted to Professor in 2019.
She currently works as a clinical academic dividing her time between teaching, research and caring for patients.
