Cleveland Clinic London’s education programmes focus on providing continued professional development for all caregivers, as well as education for external organisations and people. This reflects our outreach into the communities we serve in London and beyond.

Our programmes strongly emphasize the importance of educating the next generation of clinicians and healthcare providers — while expanding the skills and knowledge of working healthcare professionals.

Medical Student Programmes

We partner with medical schools to offer placements for student-selected components. Using rigorous curricula — led by some of London’s leading consultants — students receive high quality learning within our team-based and patient-centred care model. Students can:

  • Learn alongside some of the best consultants in the world, studying best practices and the latest developments in medical care
  • Collaborate across disciplines throughout Cleveland Clinic, globally

Allied Health Professionals Programmes

Are you seeking a career as an allied health professional? Cleveland Clinic London can help you further your education. We have partnered with universities to offer student placements in therapies and most allied health professions. We also help employed therapists develop new skills and provide training opportunities including working towards higher degrees. For any questions, please reach out to [email protected].

Nursing Student Programmes

Nursing Education has partnered with nursing universities to host full-time BSc and PGDip/MSc nursing and ODP students and nursing and ODP apprenticeships. We offer a full range of clinical placement opportunities from outpatient, med-surgical, critical care to peri-operative placements. Our students are supported by trained and experienced practice supervisors and practice assessors as well as our team of seven clinical nurse educators.

Our students have opportunities to participate in clinical skills training and simulation during their placements.

Observerships

Cleveland Clinic London regularly treats patients requiring complex care. This allows us to provide surgical immersion opportunities with expert surgeons giving the chance to see uncommon and complex cases as well as complex medical care, ICU and rehabilitation. Observerships are open to UK or international applicants by completion of an application form.

Fellowships

Cleveland Clinic London offers several fellowship tracks covering clinical and non-clinical training, research and education. Opportunities include clinical and non-clinical PhD studentships in collaboration with prestigious HEIs, post-doctoral clinical research fellowships, education and teaching fellowships. We also provide ‘post-CCT’ advanced surgical fellowship opportunities. Some of our fellowships include the opportunity to travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations worldwide to benefit from our global clinical and scientific expertise. Our fellowships are focused on providing career development opportunities at all levels.

Continuing Professional Education

For 80 years, we have been committed to educating and developing physicians, nurses and other medical professionals worldwide. Our continuing education programmes raise the standard of healthcare. We empower all our caregivers and other UK healthcare professionals to build advanced knowledge and skills. We do this by hosting:

  • Speciality-specific symposia and conferences
  • Surgical immersion courses
  • A three times per year Cleveland Clinic Course providing the latest medical updates for general practitioners
  • Multidisciplinary seminars
  • Online resources including on-demand webinar and podcasts

Across all Cleveland Clinic locations, our caregivers can access programmes from our Center for Continuing Education.

In the UK, we partner with the Royal Colleges, the NHS and other organisations to develop continuing education programmes — whether you work at Cleveland Clinic London or elsewhere in the UK.

Community Engagement Programmes

Supporting the community has always been a core focus at Cleveland Clinic. In London, we are collaborating with local leaders to deliver health education aimed at addressing the effects of social determinants of health. By working alongside partners who share our dedication, we strive to foster a healthier, more thriving community for all.

Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine UK Edition
