Cleveland Clinic London Hospital offers a state-of-the-art, high-acuity medical and surgical environment. Our caregivers can grow their clinical expertise across multiple specialities in collaboration with expert clinicians.
We were the first private UK hospital to offer a complete end-to-end electronic barcode medication administration (BCMA) process, a fully integrated electronic medical record (EMR) and integrated theatre iMRI. Our investment in EMR technology means nurses have the latest patient information at their fingertips. This places the patient at the centre of their care and helps to improve patient safety.
At Cleveland Clinic London, we support the Pathway to Excellence® and Magnet® journey for nursing. These programmes are the highest recognition for nursing excellence and outcomes. This accreditation confirms there is an environment that empowers nurses, values their contribution and supports nursing leadership. We are on our journey to Pathway to Excellence® and will be amongst the first wave of Pathway to Excellence® hospitals in the UK.
We also celebrate our nurses through the Nursing Excellence Awards and DAISY Awards. The DAISY award is an international recognition programme where patients, their families and caregivers can nominate a nurse or midwife who has made a significant impact through outstanding care.

Nurses as Leaders
Nursing caregivers are core members of our clinical teams. These caregivers raise ideas, develop problem-solving projects and use evidence-based practice to innovate and make positive impacts to patient care. Our nurses are bedside leaders, empowered to speak-up and advocate for patient and caregiver safety.
As Cleveland Clinic London’s largest caregiver group, our nurses have vast experience and diverse expertise, with over 70 nationalities represented.
They work in every setting and can be found in positions of leadership, advanced clinical practice, quality and safety, research, education, informatics and more.
Excellence Through Teamwork and Serving our Community
We have a 24/7 clinical coverage model to ensure nurses are always supported by surgical Fellows, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Critical Care Practitioners and Consultants. All nursing caregivers receive training in high-reliability to prevent errors. And when things don’t go to plan, we apply a just-culture model and patient safety incident response framework to evaluate the systems and processes to learn and improve patient care. Our globally integrated model assures learnings are embedded and best practices disseminated throughout the organisation.
Our nursing caregivers volunteer within the community through a range of programmes such as presenting at conferences and community events. They also volunteer for non-clinical environmental stewardship projects, charities and more.
Leadership
Sheila A Miller, DNP | Chief Nursing Officer
Sheila A. Miller, DNP is responsible for leading the nursing strategy and practice at Cleveland Clinic London. Dr. Miller is a global healthcare leader with expertise in quality patient care strategies, relationship building, team management and more. With 35 years in professional nursing, she has spent much of her healthcare career in leadership positions. Since 2009, Dr. Miller has served as a chief nurse for the Cleveland Clinic health system. She held the role at three different hospitals in Ohio, U.S., most recently at Cleveland Clinic Akron General health system, before joining Cleveland Clinic London in early 2023.
